Een aantal analyses van algemene bevolkingsonderzoeken duidt erop dat de psychosociale gezondheid van lesbische en biseksuele vrouwen slechter is dan die van heteroseksuele vrouwen. Als een verklaring voor deze verschillen worden meestal sociale stressoren gezien die verbonden zijn aan de minderhedenstatus, maar een samenhang tussen gezondheid en deze factoren is nog nauwelijks aangetoond. Het doel van deze studie was daarom de psychosociale gezondheid van lesbische en biseksuele vrouwen met normgegevens van vrouwen uit de algemene bevolking te vergelijken, de mate van stigmatisering en negatieve ervaringen van lesbische en biseksuele vrouwen in kaart te brengen en te kijken naar de verbanden tussen stigmatisering en psychosociale gezondheid. | |
