Met o.a. een fragment uit Dr Money and the boy with no penis.

Title: Gaia and the New Politics of Love : Notes for a Poly Planet
Author Serena Anderlini-D'Onofrio ; foreword by Dorion Sagan ; afterword by Sasha and Janet Lessin.
Impressum Berkeley, CA : North Atlantic Books. 2009 - xxvi, 243 p.: ill.
ISBN 9781556438219
Annotation Bibliogr.: p. 205-220.
Summary Gaia theory argues that the flora and fauna of the planet operate in a self-regulating web that keeps the world livable. According to the theory, humankind is the most powerful species in this web and also its biggest threat. This provocative book explores ways to minimize and ultimately eliminate this threat with love and intimacy. Controversial Italian author Serena Anderlini-D'Onofrio has authored the first global ecology study based on an analysis of human health. Anderlini-D'Onofrio identifies her remedy within the context of Gaia theory, re-envisioning it as a more inclusive philosophy that positively impacts not only relationships, but world ecology under duress. The author links human sexuality to the global ecosystem, claiming that freedom from fear will stimulate a holistic health movement powerful enough to heal relationships and restore planetary balance. Gaia and the New Politics of Love is bracing in its range, weaving together issues of human and global health; the relationship of politics, sexuality, and ecology; practices and styles of love; the changing roles of eroticism and gender in our lives; and polyamory, bisexuality, and the AIDS reappraisal movement.

Summary De documentaire Middle Sexes: Redefining He and She onderzoekt het begrip gender, in de witte westerse wereld een streng binair fenomeen.

Title: Sexual Development in Childhood
Author ed. by John Bancroft.
Impressum Bloomington, IN : Indiana University Press. 2003 - 484 p.
ISBN 0253342430
Annotation Hardcover. Oorspr. uitg.: Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction, Inc., 2003.
Summary Approached with either "indifference" or "panic" in our culture, discussion of childhood sexuality remains submerged within political and moral debates that have historically impeded its understanding. In contrast, Sexual Development in Childhood brings together respected researchers and clinicians to assess the current state of knowledge about childhood sexuality. The result is a comprehensive presentation of the latest research that is rational, balanced, and thorough. The wide-ranging essays in Sexual Development in Childhood seek collectively to answer many of the most vital questions in the field of childhood development. What is childhood sexuality, and why should it be studied? How should it be measured, and what research methods are most useful? What are the current empirical results of research, and in what direction do these studies intend to go in the future? The essays offered in answer to these questions propose to help us understand both the normal range of sexual development in children and the consequences of abusive sexual experiences.

Title: Sexualities and Identities of Minority Women
Author Sana Loue, ed.
Impressum Dordrecht : Springer. 2009 - xi, 171 p.
ISBN 0387756566
Summary This singular volume addresses the issues confronting minority women of diverse sexual orientations (lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, and questioning) - challenges that often diverge substantially from those of other women of color, and from those affecting minority men who have sex with men. Contributions from scholars, public health professionals, and members of the community reveal a wide range of developmental, relational, political, and legal concerns that have been given scant attention in either the minority or the sexual minority literature. From these varied perspectives, experiences of stigma and unity, isolation and hope, are discussed with rare sensitivity and insight. Key areas of coverage include: - Development of sexual identity and minority identity: similarities and differences; - Minority sexual status among minorities/minority status among sexual minorities; - Constructing the family: social and legal aspects; - Navigating the health care system: from access to care to disclosure to providers; - Safety and violence in the workplace and community; - Religion and spirituality: exclusion and support. Sexualities and Identities of Minority Women is not only a source of practice-enhancing information, but also an opportunity to hear the voices of its subject, making the book especially relevant to health care providers, and to professionals and researchers in psychology, sexuality, public health, health policy, social work, and counseling. It is suitable as a graduate-level text in any of these fields.

Title: The Men's Directory : A World Directory of Research and Resources
Author comp. by Diederik F. Janssen.
Impressum Harriman, TN : The Men's Studies Press. 2008 - 189 bl.
ISBN 1931342216
Summary In late 2007 no definitive research guide existed for the burgeoning field of men and masculinities studies. This was surprising given the one-and-a-half decade of scholarly commentary on men-as-men, and after a decade of thematic extension and diversification in men's health studies (gay-affirmative psychotherapy, transgender care, Aging Male Syndrome and andropause, to name a few areas). Research guides nowadays tend to be scattered across the internet which arguably has played an important role in facilitating "men's studies" as a social scientific elaboration of 1980s "men's movement" initiatives. Only some vestiges of movement still remain, and today most initiatives dedicated to men as an entitled group self-identify in terms of public education and resource centers. Not limited to "men's studies" this directory seeks to cover all research areas specific and dedicated to boys, men and masculinities. It has, in short, a double purview of male sex and masculine gender, however without insisting on any necessary form of "correspondence." The Men's Directory (TMD) provides short identification of materials, events, organizations, and a variety of grass roots initiatives that are aimed at the production, distribution or monitoring of information on men/boys, men's/boys' genders, male health, and male masculinities. With paragraph 7.3.1. Homosexualities.
