Omschrijving

On September 5, 1987 Amsterdam made history. At the foot of the Westerkerk (Western Church), a unique and impressive monument was unveiled to inspire homosexual men and women and to support their struggle against denial, oppression and discrimination.

The intention of the monument is to make homosexuality more visible in public areas. Homosexuals from Holland and from abroad use this spot to place flowers on one of the triangles, to commemorate their loved ones who have passed away, to celebrate a marriage, to meet friends at one of the parties, to hold protest meetings, or carry out a drive.
